Benjamin's Visual Diary

"Week 9: Thinking"

For the ninth week, the prompt was "thinking"; much like creativity thinking is rooted in most, if not everything we do. From day to day activities to working on indepth projects; it all comes back to 'thinking'. It is a universal exprience among all living beings cable of making choices.

Entries One And Two

For the first two entries, I wanted to explore the very basic & literal ideas of thinking; which, for living things, is the brain. CPUs are often refered to as a computer's 'brain', although it may process information very differently to ours, it still has the abilitly to 'think' and make choices. Just like things with brains, CPUs will have different limations depending on what brand of technology it may be used in. I.e a smart watch's CPU will have very different limations to a life-like human robot.

Entries Three And Four

For entries Three and Four I wanted to draw things that help us create visually; one being a sketchbook, a very real, physical thing you can use wherever. The other is a drawing tablet; something that helps artists draw digitally; and although the two objects are completely different their core usage is still the same.

Entries Five And Six

For the last two entries, I wanted to explore how "thoughts" and "thinking" are executed on a scientific level. For us it's neurons and for computers it is wires; we loop back to the theme of contrast, both are completely different, yet their core function is the complete same.
