"What Is Colour?"
For week 3 we had to explore the idea of colour; what is it? Does it matter? To put it shortly- yes, colour always will matter no matter how you look at it. It helps convey art and the things around us.
Within my own art, I always liked breaking the rules of colour theory(i.e certain colours shouldn't go together otherwise they'll clash) I hadn't played around with this concept recently so I decided to delve into this and explore what colours on their own can convey.
For the first two entries, I didn't have a sense of direction; I just wanted to play around with colours and shapes, and let the art draw itself. However the more I played around and used various filters on the art, the more I noticed each piece had a more "retro" aesthetic which became something I wanted to lean into a bit more in later entries.
For the third and fourth entries, I wanted to shift the focus more on shapes and space; how different colours may affect the visual experience of the piece as well.
For the final two entries, I wanted to create a sense of contrast between the two; one feeling "alone", the other feeling crowded and busy. There was no real symbolism for this week, mainly just experimentation.
